uh [12 Jun 2009|11:06am]
o hai Livejournal. sorry forgetting about you.

summer is going well. I have a burntan on my back and my arms are evenly tanned, after having had a farmer's tan for a couple of years.

I don't have a job. but I am planning on returning to mexico in july to visit some cool places I didn't get to see while I was there, see some people, eat some food. obviously.

still a general loser though. no friends here. whatever. I hab my puppppyyy.

It has sense [08 May 2009|05:32pm]

Here's an essay from the little book I'm working on, The Great Communicator called "It Has Sense" about thinking in two languages.

It’s difícil to pensar in dos languages, but yo think que vale la pena. My mente está working doble time, on dos diferentes lados of a curtain. Men’s bathroom and women’s bathroom have become unisex, one lugar común para two different tipos of things.

Por ejemplo, thinking de occurrences pasados, I recollect alguien saying algo pero in Spanish, cuando ellos don’t even speak español. It really es difícil, but estoy acustombrado by now. Solo puedo imagine what pasará when surrounded by personas que don’t understand español and English, y entonces when digo yo something equivicado o awkward-sounding, like not using possessive sujetos, the house of my parents, el carro of my sister, etc. No habrá entendimiento. Al leer this, lo que he escrito, I understand it perfectly. Tiene mucho sentido for me, pero for you, careful reader, requirirá hard-thinking. Have you read A Clockwork Orange? Excrito en a language of apparent nonsense, modismos, pero after reading por un tiempo, one becomes acustumbrado and understands it. Como learning Spanish, no entendía everything, but unas words caught en mi mente and I sort of fit them juntos para make sense. No estoy comunicandome very well, but at least podrás understand como se siente not knowing everything. Comunicacíon becomes more difícil, and aún understanding lo que está said isn’t even the same. Spanglish no es un lenguaje, real, pero I speak it and espero llegar a sentir something I once y todavía siento.

I lost my job. I only had it a week and a half. I guess $500 is good for that amount of time. Well, decent. Now I have to find a job. Like $3 million other Americans.

My typewriter doesn't have any ink in the ribbon left, and I want to start on my book of essays. It's going to be called The Great Communicator. I have about 10 essays written in my Moleskine. They're about misunderstanding and failure to communicate properly. And other ruminations while I was in Mexico.

I should exercise.

feel like I come here when I "feel vulnerable." whatever.
feel so Insecure. feel like I am a lossser. have no "hopes & dreams/aspirations." hate lurv. lurv hate?
feel so 13 saying "I'm gonna be alone 4eva" but it's true. not afraid of it, just now it's what's gonna happen. feel like saying feel a lot. feel like a 13 yr old girl that "hates her body" and listens to xiu xiu because jamie stewart is "damaged" and so am I. hate sounding dramatic but uh not meant to. know my life isn't hard/fugged up but seriously. not like anything bad happened. just um yeah. feel defected.

so like [24 Nov 2008|01:10pm]
everything in America looks like a dream to me. after being in mexico for a couple, everything looks like its out of a movie. the houses, the people, everyything. it's so cool. it's like, looking at it through new eyes.

I really have grown to realize how much we have here. And how glad I am that I live in America. I'm glad being able to vote was one of the first things I got to do upon arriving. Coming out of the voting booth was like, feeling like I really was a part of the US again.

I know there's a lot of undesirable things about the US but really, Mexico has a lot more. They work tons and receive little to no money. The men generally don't respect their wives or children. It was so sad to see so many families like that. I'm glad I grew up in a family where I know both of my parents love me and paid attention to me. You know, you never really understand what you have until you see that someone else doesn't. I try not to feel bad about my own circumstances when I know out there millions of people suffer much more than I do and it makes the burden a lot lighter.

dum dum dum dummm

I got my passport today. EXPIRES 2016! that's insane. The world will have ended four years ago according to the Mayans. Oh well.

Notable occurances in 2016:
Super Bowl's 50th Anniversary-February
The end of the world according to Peter Venkman's guest on his talk show (Ghostbusters II)-February 14
Square Root Day-April 4
Transit of Mercury-May 9
100th Indianapolis 500-May 28
RadioShack's 2005 deal with Sprint PCS terminates.-December 31

So who am I to believe? Ghostbusters? Or a mostly extinct Latin American race?

I'm flying to Portland today with my sister to see sleater-kinney's final two shows. It hasn't hit me yet. We have a layover in San Francisco and there's no In n Out Burger in the SF airport terminal. And the layover's only for an hour or so. It's gonna be sweet. And it happens today.

[02 Aug 2006|10:15pm]
